Week 1

Our assignment this week was a bit harder than I had thought it would be. I'll be honest. The only reason I made it outside was because I had no other choice in the matter. My car was in the shop for repairs. Originally I was going to bike down to pick it up but when I Googled the a route I realized the distance was just a little over what we were supposed to walk/ run that week.

My first class was at 1 pm and like a pro I procrastinated till the last minuet. I grabbed Bob's i pod and headed out the door. I always found it interesting to listen to whatever new mix he had made. This mix consisted of artist like Bone Thugs & Harmony, The Nestorius B.I.G., 2 Pac, and other old school rap. I don't particularly like that type of music but I don't hate it either. I find it to be great background noise and my thoughts seem to flow more freely. One thought I'll share was what passerby's might think if they knew what I was blasting in my ears. Then I laughed to my self and thought this must be what it feels like to be "hard".
Since not many of you know me, allow me to explain. I am 25, white as it gets, trip over my own feet kind of girl. So I was feeling like the female version of our good friend Michael Bolton here:

So all in all I thought about a lot of things I'm having a hard time remembering at the moment. I did run outside once more that week but my run again was much more of a walk. I Google the first walk and it said it would take an hour but I made the 2.8 mile distance just under that time at 51 minuets. The second walk was not timed and I'm not too sure about the distance. On the Saturday meet we got our times. My mile was 10:53, better than I had thought. I plan on improving that.

I know it's nothing to celebrate because my biggest battle is leaving the house. I'm going to see if some of my class mates would like to run with me. Having a buddy or two will make me get out where as if I do it on my own I might just fail the class because of how lazy I am. I'm hoping to change that...and I will!

Goals for the next couple weeks:
1. Get a running buddy
2. Follow the training schedule
3. Write down what I eat.

We'll see how it goes. See you guys next week!
